Making the most of A3 prints

A3 (297 x 420mm) is double the size of A4, which makes it the size of choice for wall art, posters, display prints and anything meant to be seen from across the room. At this scale, weight really counts a large print flexes more, so heavier 240–260gsm sheets stay flatter, feel more premium and frame far better than lighter stock. That said, 180–200gsm is a cost-effective option for posters and higher-volume display printing.

All A3 sheets here are glossy-coated for rich, high-contrast results and made for inkjet printers that take A3. Do check your printer supports A3 before ordering. For standard-size prints, A4 photo paper is the everyday choice, and you can browse the complete range on the photo paper hub. Printing large means using more ink, so it's worth keeping your printer ink topped up.

A3 measures 297 x 420mm, exactly twice the size of A4. It's the go-to for posters, wall art and large display prints where a standard A4 photo would be too small to make an impact.

You'll need a printer that specifically supports A3, as many home inkjets only go up to A4. Check your printer's maximum paper size before ordering if it takes A3, this paper will work fine.

For framing and display, heavier 240–260gsm is best, it stays flat and feels premium at this size. For posters or bulk printing where cost matters more, 180–200gsm does the job well.

Bigger sheets are more prone to flexing and curling, so the extra thickness of 240–260gsm helps them stay flat and rigid. That makes a real difference when a print is framed or mounted, where any waviness would show.

Keep it flat and sealed in its packaging somewhere cool and dry, large sheets show curling and moisture damage more than small ones. Storing it flat rather than upright helps it stay perfectly even, ready for that big print.
