T850 Ink

The SC-P800 is a professional A2 photo printer. The extended set, including matte black, photo black and two light blacks, is what allows the very wide tonal range these machines are bought for — particularly in black-and-white work, where neutral greys are the whole game.

For test prints and proofing it is a sensible saving, and on a printer holding nine cartridges that adds up quickly. For work being sold or exhibited, most photographers use genuine Epson, since the printer's profiles and published archival ratings are matched to those inks.

Yes. Each of the nine is a separate cartridge and can be ordered by itself. The printer will stop if any fitted cartridge is empty, so replacing promptly matters.

Sealed, upright, somewhere cool and out of direct sunlight. Unopened cartridges keep well for a long time; once the foil is opened the ink can begin to dry, so only unwrap one when you are ready to fit it.
